Universal Desktop Client Settings

Most desktop IRC clients can connect using the following details:

Code:

Server: bnc.eggy.net
Port: 5000
SSL/TLS: Enabled
Server password: username/Network:password

Replace:

username with your exact BNC username.
Network with the exact network name shown in the dashboard.
password with your current BNC account password.

Example format:

Code:

ExampleUser/Libera:<your password>

Important

The server-password field is not simply your password.

It must include:

username/Network:

before the password.

Correct:

Code:

ExampleUser/Libera:MyPassword

Incorrect:

Code:

MyPassword
ExampleUser:MyPassword
ExampleUser/Libera

The exact field names vary between IRC clients, but the server, port, TLS and password format remain the same.

Use the Connect or Command area of the dashboard to confirm your exact connection details.
