Eggy Support Terms and Community Rules

Last updated: 2 August 2026

Welcome to Eggy Support, the official community support centre for Eggy services.

These Terms and Community Rules apply whenever you browse, register for, post on, or otherwise use support.eggy.net, referred to below as “Eggy Support”, the “Support Centre”, or the “Service”.

By registering for or using Eggy Support, you agree to:

  1. These Eggy Support Terms and Community Rules;
  2. The main Eggy Terms & Conditions published at https://eggy.net/legal/terms;
  3. Any additional rules, notices, policies, or instructions displayed within a particular forum or support section.

If there is a conflict between these community rules and the main Eggy Terms & Conditions, the main Eggy Terms & Conditions will take precedence unless expressly stated otherwise.

1. Eligibility

Eggy Support is available only to users who are at least 13 years old.

By registering, you confirm that you are aged 13 or older and are legally permitted to use the Service. Do not register for or use Eggy Support if you do not meet this requirement.

2. Purpose of Eggy Support

Eggy Support exists to provide community discussion, technical guidance, and assistance relating to Eggy services, including:

  • Eggy accounts and account access;
  • Connection problems;
  • IRC networks and clients;
  • Web and mobile clients;
  • IRC Inbox support;
  • vHosts and identity settings;
  • Premium features;
  • Payments, cancellations, and subscriptions;
  • Feature suggestions and service feedback;
  • Official notices, guides, and service information.

Eggy Support is not an emergency service and does not provide telephone support.

3. General Community Rules

When using Eggy Support, you must:

  • Treat other members, staff, and volunteers respectfully;
  • Post in the most appropriate section;
  • Use a clear and relevant thread title;
  • Explain your issue accurately and include useful non-sensitive details;
  • Keep replies relevant to the original topic;
  • Follow reasonable instructions provided by moderators and support staff;
  • Search for an existing answer before creating a duplicate thread;
  • Use English where reasonably necessary for staff or community members to understand the request;
  • Report rule-breaking content rather than escalating the situation publicly.

Disagreement is allowed. Personal attacks, intimidation, harassment, and deliberately disruptive conduct are not.

4. Prohibited Conduct

You must not use Eggy Support to:

  • Harass, threaten, abuse, bully, or target another person;
  • Post hateful, discriminatory, or dehumanising content;
  • Encourage violence, criminal activity, or unlawful conduct;
  • Publish another person’s private or identifying information without permission;
  • Impersonate Eggy staff, another user, a company, or any third party;
  • Misrepresent your identity, account ownership, or entitlement to a service;
  • Post spam, repeated advertisements, referral links, or unsolicited promotions;
  • Flood, mass-post, deliberately duplicate threads, or disrupt discussions;
  • Evade a suspension, restriction, moderation action, or account limitation;
  • Share, request, or distribute malware, credential-stealing tools, exploits, or harmful code;
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to Eggy systems, accounts, services, or infrastructure;
  • Encourage abuse of Eggy services, Premium features, vHosts, BindHost controls, or account limits;
  • Submit fraudulent payment claims, knowingly false reports, or fabricated evidence;
  • Publish obscene, pornographic, or otherwise unsuitable adult material;
  • Infringe copyright, trademarks, or other intellectual-property rights;
  • Use the Service in any way that violates applicable law or the main Eggy Terms & Conditions.

5. Support Requests and Account Information

When requesting help, provide only the information genuinely needed to investigate the issue.

Do not publicly post:

  • Passwords;
  • Recovery codes;
  • Authentication tokens;
  • Session identifiers;
  • Full payment-card information;
  • Private API credentials;
  • Private email access details;
  • Unredacted personal documents;
  • Any other secret or security-sensitive information.

Eggy staff will not require you to publish your password. Where account verification is needed, staff may direct you to an approved private support process.

6. Public and Private Content

Most forum posts are public and may be viewed by other users, visitors, or search engines. Do not submit anything you consider private or confidential to a public forum.

Content submitted to private support areas may still be reviewed by authorised Eggy staff and service administrators for the purpose of providing support, enforcing rules, protecting users, investigating abuse, or complying with legal obligations.

Content may also be processed by technical services used for spam prevention, security, hosting, moderation, email delivery, or operation of the Service.

7. User-Generated Content

You are responsible for all content you submit, upload, link to, or otherwise make available through Eggy Support.

The views expressed by users are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of Eggy. You must have the necessary rights and permission to submit your content.

By posting content on Eggy Support, you grant Eggy a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, display, format, and distribute that content where reasonably required to operate, moderate, maintain, secure, and promote the Support Centre.

You retain ownership of your original content. This licence does not permit Eggy to falsely claim authorship of it.

8. Accuracy of Community Advice

Some replies may be provided by community members rather than Eggy staff.

Community advice may be helpful, but it is not guaranteed to be complete, accurate, current, or suitable for every configuration. Official staff instructions, published documentation, and service notices take priority over unofficial advice.

Do not run commands, scripts, downloads, or configuration changes that you do not understand or trust.

9. Moderation

Eggy may review, move, merge, lock, edit, hide, or remove content where reasonably necessary.

Moderation may occur when content:

  • Breaks these rules;
  • Is posted in the wrong section;
  • Duplicates an existing discussion;
  • Contains private or security-sensitive information;
  • Is misleading, abusive, unlawful, or disruptive;
  • Creates a security, privacy, or service-integrity risk;
  • Is no longer suitable or relevant;
  • Interferes with an active support investigation.

Eggy may issue warnings, posting restrictions, temporary suspensions, or permanent bans depending on the circumstances.

Serious abuse may result in restrictions being applied across other Eggy services where permitted by the main Eggy Terms & Conditions.

10. Staff Decisions and Appeals

Do not create repeated public threads to argue about a moderation decision.

Where an appeal process is available, use the designated appeal or contact method and provide an honest explanation. Submitting an appeal does not guarantee that a decision will be reversed.

Attempts to evade restrictions while an appeal is under review may result in further action.

11. Accounts and Security

You are responsible for protecting your Eggy Support account and login credentials.

You must:

  • Use accurate registration information;
  • Keep your email address accessible and current;
  • Use a secure password;
  • Notify Eggy if you believe your account has been compromised;
  • Avoid sharing an account with another person;
  • Avoid creating duplicate accounts to bypass restrictions or mislead staff.

Eggy may require account verification where ownership, security, or abuse concerns arise.

12. Spam and Automated Activity

Automated registrations, scraping, unsolicited messaging, mass posting, and abusive bot activity are prohibited unless expressly authorised.

Eggy may use automated anti-spam and security systems to assess registrations, posts, links, IP addresses, and account activity. Accounts or content identified as abusive may be restricted or removed.

13. External Links and Third-Party Services

Users may post links to third-party websites or resources where relevant.

Eggy does not control and is not responsible for third-party content, services, downloads, privacy practices, or security. A link appearing on Eggy Support does not mean that Eggy endorses it.

Use external websites, downloads, commands, and resources at your own risk.

14. Availability of the Service

Eggy does not guarantee that Eggy Support will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

The Service may be restricted, updated, or temporarily unavailable because of:

  • Maintenance;
  • Security incidents;
  • Software updates;
  • Hosting or infrastructure problems;
  • Abuse prevention;
  • Legal requirements;
  • Technical faults;
  • Circumstances outside Eggy’s reasonable control.

Reasonable efforts may be made to restore service, but no specific restoration time is guaranteed.

15. Removal and Account Closure

You may request closure of your Eggy Support account through the appropriate support or contact process.

Closing an account does not automatically require Eggy to delete every public discussion or reply associated with that account.

Posts may be retained where necessary to preserve the continuity of discussions, prevent abuse, maintain support records, comply with legal obligations, or protect legitimate interests.

Personal information will be handled in accordance with the applicable Eggy privacy policy and legal requirements.

16. Main Eggy Terms & Conditions

Use of Eggy Support is also governed by the main Eggy Terms & Conditions:

https://eggy.net/legal/terms

Those terms contain the wider rules and conditions applying to Eggy accounts, services, acceptable use, service access, enforcement, and related matters.

Using Eggy Support does not exempt you from rules applying to any other Eggy service you use.

A forum account and an Eggy service account may be technically separate, but conduct on one service may be considered where necessary to protect users, prevent abuse, investigate security incidents, or enforce the main Eggy Terms & Conditions.

17. Changes to These Rules

Eggy may update these Terms and Community Rules when reasonably necessary.

Material updates may be announced through the Support Centre or another appropriate Eggy communication channel. Continued use of Eggy Support after updated rules take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised version.

18. Acceptance

By registering for or using Eggy Support, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Community Rules and the main Eggy Terms & Conditions.

If you do not agree with them, do not register for or continue using Eggy Support.
