Reporting a Network-Specific Connection Failure

Use the following template when an individual IRC network will not connect.

Code:
BNC username:
IRC network:
Dashboard network name:
IRC server:
Port:
SSL/TLS enabled: Yes / No
Selected vHost:
Dashboard status:
Exact IRC error:
Approximate time:
Does another server work:
Does another network connect:

Remove any private information before posting.

Useful error examples

Include the complete error where possible, such as:

Code:
Connection refused
Connection timed out
SSL handshake failed
Too many connections
No route to host
Nickname is already in use
Closing Link

Do not summarise a detailed server error as only:

Code:
It does not work

The exact wording helps determine whether the problem relates to:

  • The IRC server.
  • The selected port.
  • SSL/TLS.
  • IPv4 or IPv6 routing.
  • A network connection limit.
  • Nickname configuration.
  • A temporary external-network outage.
