External Network Rules, Bans and Services

Each IRC network is operated independently and has its own rules, staff, services and connection policies.

Eggy BNC provides the connection but does not control decisions made by an external IRC network.

Network-controlled matters

The external IRC network controls:

• Network bans and connection refusals.
• Channel bans.
• Nickname registration.
• Nickname ownership disputes.
• Channel registration.
• Service-account passwords.
• Connection limits.
• Network-specific cloaks or hostnames.
• Staff and operator decisions.

Eggy BNC support can help with

Support can help confirm:

• Which IRC server is configured.
• Which port and TLS setting are stored.
• Whether the network is connected.
• Whether the selected vHost is compatible.
• Whether the dashboard reconnect action completed.
• The connection error returned by the external network.

Support cannot overturn a ban or recover an account belonging to another IRC network's nickname service.
