Announcement Eggy Copter Now Fights Back

One extra warning for anyone starting to get comfortable with Eggy Copter, it's received updates!

The further you fly, the game is deliberately designed to stop feeling like the same obstacle loop repeated forever.

Level 1 runs from the start of the flight through to 9,999m. During this part of the run you are dealing with the normal procedural cave system: changing ceiling and floor profiles, varying gaps, floating hazards, moving obstacles, Power Cells, boosts and close-call opportunities. The route is generated from the run seed, so even Level 1 is not simply one fixed course you can memorise.

The idea during Level 1 is to get you used to reading what is coming, judging gaps, deciding when it is worth going after pickups and learning when a tempting route is probably going to end with another entry on the crashes leaderboard.

Then you hit 10,000m.

There is no loading screen, reset or interruption. Your existing score, distance, energy and collected items continue normally, but the game quietly announces Level 2 and begins changing how the course is generated.

The first 500m is deliberately transitional. At exactly 10,000m you are still entering Level 2 through familiar terrain. From there the new system progressively takes over, with the first new freestanding hazards beginning after roughly 10,100m. By 10,500m, Level 2 is fully active.

That is where things get considerably less polite.

Instead of relying on one type of obstacle pattern, Level 2 uses a procedural scene director. It can generate wider sections filled with moving objects, moving swarms, paired moving gates, tighter passages, ceiling and floor bumps, mixed sections combining terrain with moving hazards, and occasional recovery sections before throwing you back into something unpleasant.

The scene lengths are variable too. You are not going to learn that “every 500m this happens” and time the whole thing from memory.

Object position, size, vertical placement, movement distance, movement speed and movement phase are all generated from the run seed, along with the terrain and scene selection. Two good runs can therefore reach the same distance and still give you noticeably different problems to solve.

It is random from the player's point of view, but deterministic behind the scenes. That means Eggy can reconstruct the exact terrain, moving objects and inputs during server-side validation rather than weakening the anti-cheat system just because the course has become procedural.

There are still generation safety limits as well. Level 2 is allowed to become increasingly ridiculous, but it is not supposed to manufacture an impossible wall and call it difficulty.

So, roughly speaking:

Level 1 teaches you how Eggy Copter works.

Level 2 starts checking whether you can still play it when knowing how it works is no longer enough.

And if you finally break 10,000m only to discover the game has apparently taken that personally… yes, that part is intentional. 😏
