How much customization (if any), of this RPG can you do in the back end? I'm wondering if you can change the 'theme' of the RPG from a fantasy to a more sci-fi oriented one. Now, I saw that you made provisions for some of it here:
Eggy RPG also includes extensive Admin CP management. Administrators can create and configure classes, enemies, items, loot tables, locations, maps, routes, quests, NPCs, dialogue trees, storylines, currencies, player stats, combat balance, regeneration, audio, events, shops, schedules and economy settings without modifying the core game code.

Player administration includes tools for adjusting class, level, XP, health, mana, energy, stats, currencies, inventory, location and map position, as well as RPG suspension controls.

Hey there :-) I can definitely see the potential in doing a proper sci-fi version of Eggy RPG, but I’d need to be realistic about the scope because it would be much more than just renaming a few fantasy terms and giving it a different visual style.

To make it feel like a genuine sci-fi RPG rather than a fantasy RPG with different labels, I’d need to go through the whole product and review the terminology, artwork, icons, combat presentation, classes, enemies, items, quests, locations, maps, shops, currencies, NPCs, dialogue, story content, audio, default data and any areas where fantasy assumptions are built into the UI or underlying systems. Some parts are already configurable, but other areas would need development work so the sci-fi theme feels consistent throughout rather than patched on top.

There’s also the question of whether the sci-fi version would need different mechanics, such as energy systems, shields, firearms, ammunition, cybernetics, hacking, spacecraft, factions or other systems that don’t currently exist in the fantasy setup. Those would be actual feature development rather than cosmetic customisation.

Because of that, I’d have to treat it as a longer-term custom project rather than something I could turn around quickly. I already have other Eggy development work ongoing, so realistically I’d be looking at several weeks at minimum, and potentially a month or two once the customisation, integration work, balancing and proper runtime testing are included.

The main issue I’d have to weigh up is the financial side. A project of that size represents a significant number of development and testing hours, so the cost would need to justify the amount of time required to properly convert Eggy RPG into a convincing sci-fi experience. I wouldn’t want to charge you for a large project and then only deliver what effectively feels like a reskin.

If it was something you were seriously interested in commissioning, I’d first need to work through exactly how far you wanted the sci-fi conversion to go, separate the cosmetic/content changes from genuinely new gameplay systems, and then work out whether the scope and budget make sense for both sides.
