Custom Real Name / GECOS
Real Name, also known as GECOS, is identity information sent when your BNC registers with an IRC server.
Custom Real Name / GECOS is a Premium feature.
Change the value
The field accepts up to 80 characters.
A reconnect is required so the IRC server receives the updated registration information.
Free accounts
Free accounts use the standard Eggy BNC banner in the IRC Real Name field.
Premium users can replace that banner with a custom value while their entitlement remains active.
Restrictions
Do not use Real Name / GECOS to:

Change the value
- Open the dashboard.
- Select Identity.
- Find Real Name / GECOS.
- Enter the required value.
- Select Save Real Name / GECOS.
- Allow the affected IRC network to reconnect.
