Connecting With KVIrc

Create a new KVIrc server or network entry using:

Server hostname: bnc.eggy.net
Port: 5000
Secure connection: Enabled
Server password: Username/Network:Password

The secure-connection option may be labelled SSL, TLS or encrypted connection depending on the KVIrc version.

Account format

The server password must contain:

Username/Network:Password

Example:

ExampleUser/OFTC:<password>

Nickname fields

KVIrc may ask for a nickname, username and real name.

Your live IRC nickname and identity are controlled by the settings stored for the selected dashboard network.

The essential BNC authentication remains the combined server-password format.

Creating several entries

Create one KVIrc entry for each dashboard network.

Give each entry a clear name so you know which network will be opened.

Example:

• Eggy — Libera.
• Eggy — DALnet.
• Eggy — IRCnet.
