Administrator Options

Eggy Live Alerts includes a dedicated Admin Control Panel settings group, allowing administrators to configure how notifications are refreshed.

• Enable or disable automatic notification refreshing.
• Set the polling interval anywhere between 3 and 180 seconds (default: 3 seconds).
• Enable optional adaptive polling to reduce server requests.
• Pause background checks when browser tabs are hidden.
• Enable or disable automatic alert counter updates.
• Enable or disable automatic conversation counter updates.

How It Works

Once installed and enabled, Eggy Live Alerts automatically checks for updated notification counts while members browse your community.

When a new alert or unread conversation is detected, XenForo's existing notification badge is updated without requiring a page refresh.

Administrators can choose a polling interval between 3 and 180 seconds. The default 3-second interval provides fast notification updates, while longer intervals can help reduce server load on busier communities.

Optional adaptive polling can further reduce unnecessary requests during periods without new notifications.

Installation

• Download the Eggy Live Alerts add-on ZIP.
