OFTC Connection Guide

The current dashboard preset for OFTC is:

Network: OFTC
Server: irc.oftc.net
Port: 6697
SSL/TLS: Enabled

Recommended setup

• Select the OFTC preset.
• Keep port 6697.
• Keep SSL/TLS enabled.
• Enter a valid nickname.
• Save the network.

If irc.oftc.net does not connect

Check:

• The exact connection error.
• Whether SSL/TLS remains enabled.
• Whether the hostname resolves.
• Whether the selected vHost is compatible with the server route.
• Whether OFTC is currently experiencing a server issue.

Do not replace the server with a random hostname from an old guide.

Use a currently supported OFTC server and match its documented port and encryption requirements.

Nickname registration, channel registration and network bans are controlled by OFTC rather than Eggy BNC.
