DALnet Connection Guide

The current dashboard preset for DALnet is:

Network: DALnet
Server: irc.dal.net
Port: 6697
SSL/TLS: Enabled

Recommended dashboard settings

• Choose the DALnet preset.
• Use irc.dal.net unless a specific DALnet server is required.
• Keep port 6697 selected.
• Keep SSL/TLS enabled.
• Choose your preferred IRC nickname.

Connection errors

If the network does not connect, record the complete server error before replacing the server.

Possible issues include:

• A temporary DALnet server problem.
• A connection limit on the selected server.
• An unavailable route.
• Incorrect TLS settings.
• A nickname or registration requirement.
• A server that does not support the address family required by the active vHost.

Using a specific DALnet server

A particular regional DALnet server can be entered through the network edit controls.

Confirm that the selected server supports the port and SSL/TLS mode you configure.

Do not repeatedly switch servers without recording the error returned by each one.
