BNC Username and IRC Nickname Are Different
Your BNC username and IRC nickname serve different purposes.
BNC username
Your BNC username is used for:
The BNC username is not a casual self-service setting.
Username changes must be handled through support or administration.
IRC nickname
Your IRC nickname is the name shown while connected to an IRC network.
Each user-managed network can have its own nickname settings.
Changing an IRC nickname does not rename your BNC account.
